The colour and scorched earth of the desert make the outback come alive. After rain, the perennial wild flowers bloom and the rich blossoms of these and the mulga trees attract a myriad of birds. This is a beautiful land that is so rich and diverse that it finds Bill Schitt in his shed painting his latest masterpiece.

Bill felt he had far too much creativity to be kept inside the four walls of a gallery, so he displays his work in an old shed at the back of Mrs Jones Boarding house.

The Artist's Shed houses one of the finest collections of art works by Bill Schitt in the world, illustrating his major achievements in painting and graphic arts from the 1960's to the present. Tour the collection by yourself or have an experienced guide show and explain the works in-depth.

First opened in 1997 as the "Bill Schitt Centre", a name change came soon after and Bill has never looked back. The Shed tours are run by Bill himself or by Mrs Jones who stands in when Bill needs to pop down to the shops or pub. In 1998 it was moved into a more central, location. This building is open plan in design and could have won a architectural award at the time of its construction in 1883. In 1999 the Shed came under the full control of Mrs Jones.
